2.I worked for a business that allowed this sort of thing to happen. Every day there was one person in charge of taking all cash and making the bank drop at the end of the night. There was no rule stating that anyone had to go behind to double check the math. This resulted in several thousands of dollars of theft. On days that I was the cashier, I always had another associate and a manager double check my math and count the cash.
