Your paper must be double-spaced in 12pt Times New Roman font.  Must include your name, date, and class.Your paper must have a title that you create.  Essay #1 is not an acceptable title.  The title helps your reader know what your argument is.

Citations:

You must include direct quotes (not paraphrasing) to support your argument.  You must correctly format your in-text citations and create a works cited page.  The works cited page does not count toward the 3-4 pages.Your paper must have a well-developed introductory paragraph that includes a clear thesis statement.  Your introduction prepares your reader for your argument and the rest of the paper follows in support of it.In the body of your essay, you will provide direct evidence (direct quotes) to support your thesis statement.  The purpose of this section is to support your own argument by presenting direct evidence (examples) from the readings.   You must have a well-thought-out conclusion that is NOT simply a restatement of your argument.  The conclusion is where you can state your personal perspective/reflections.All papers must be proofread carefully.
